Taryn Manning’s assistant has forgiven her for a ‘punching and choking assault’ – hours after the actress was charged for the incident.
The actress appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court on Friday morning, with famed defense attorney Joe Tacopina, where she was charged with a misdemeanor assault and choking following the brawl.
The 33-year-old has been ordered to stay away from her assistant, after allegedly punching and scratching the 23-year-old in a vicious feud that left the young woman bruised all over.
However, despite the criminal compaint stating Taryn ‘slammed her head against the floor and wall’, Tacopina downplayed the altercation and referred to Holliann Hartman as Manning’s ‘longtime friend’.
He added: ‘She’s part of the Manning family. She stays with the mother and Taryn in California.’
The lawyer continued to brush off the severity of the incident, saying: ‘There are some personal issues… Disagreements that friends who spend every waking moment together have on occasion.’
Following in Lindsay Lohan’s footsteps – where she allegedly hit a pedestrian with a Porsche and partied with her ‘coke-addled mother’ – the alleged incident occurred at NY’s Dream Downtown Hotel.
Taryn was arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning around 5am in her hotel room.
Despite the alleged incident, Taryn seems to have continued working, as she later tweeted on Thursday: ‘I’m on #MyDamnChannelLive in 30 min! Send questions… I will answer live on the show.’

The Arizona native has her finger in many entrepreneurial pies, including fashion designer, singer-songwriter [vocalist for electronic duo Boomkat], and co-owner of the clothing brand Born Uniqorn.
Taryn carved out a career for herself on the silver screen too, starring in Kirsten Dunst film Crazy/Beautiful, as well as playing one of Britney Spears’ best friends in Crossroads.
Her major break came opposite Eminem in 2002, taking on the role of Janeane in 8 Mile.
Taryn played the rapper’s girlfriend, before he embarked on a romance with Alex, also an iconic role depicted by the late Brittany Murphy.
More recently, she had a role on Sons Of Anarchy as Cherry, the girlfriend of the character played by Johnny Lewis – Katy Perry’s tragic ex who died last month, after killing his landlady and her cat.

Taryn recently signed up to star in The Shallows, which according to Variety, tells the story of five friends who ‘adventure into the Florida Everglades for what promises to be an exciting trip that quickly turns deadly as they struggle to survive the horrors of the natural environment around them.’
Speaking in a recent interview, Taryn was quizzed over her dreams for the future.
She told Crushable: ‘The thing about me is that I definitely live kind of day to day, but I know that I want a family and stuff. I know that I can act until the day I die, so that to me is a beautiful thing.
‘I know that as I mature and grow older, I’ll play different roles. And that’s exciting for me. The dreams of some of the roles I’ll get to play. And I look forward to that.
‘Right now, I’m still young and I have energy, so my dream is to tour all over the world and spread my message. And try to inspire people that they, too, can do what I did.
‘Because I really was just a girl with a dream at one time. And I moved to Hollywood and made it happen. To me, it’s not about reaching some level, it’s all a journey.’
Taryn poignantly added: ‘And I find the beauty in the ups and the downs now. I appreciate it all.’
The New York Daily News report that Judge Alexander Tish ‘released Taryn without bail and ordered her to stay away from Hartman until the next court date, scheduled November 13.’
However, Tacopina has said Hartman does not want to pursue the case.
