Voters in parts of the state including our area will once again head to the polls this week for some recall elections.
This Tuesday will be the general election for six Republican incumbent State Senators.
That includes three from our area: Rob Cowles of Allouez, Luther Olsen of Ripon and Randy Hopper of Fond du Lac.
A total of nine state Senators were targeted for recalls because of their stance on the controversial collective bargaining law.
In the 14th state Senate District, incumbent Republican Luther Olsen is facing Democrat Fred Clark in Tuesday’s election.
This is seen as one of the most competitive races with Clark, in his second term in the State Assembly, trying to knock off Olsen, a moderate who ran unopposed in his two previous races.
“Well a lot of people do have their minds made up that’s true there are fewer undecided voters than we’d see in a typical election,” said Clark.
“They’re all battleground cities and this district goes from Baraboo all the way up to Clintonville including, Wisconsin Dells,” said Olsen.
Next week, two Democratic State Senators facing recalls, Jim Holperin of Conover and Robert Wirch of Kenosha, will have their general elections.
Holperin’s district includes portions of Shawano, Marinette and Oconto counties.
Democratic State Senator Dave Hansen of Green Bay won in his recall election last month.
