Northern Iowa vs Kansas

Northern Iowa would never forget the role Ali Farokhmanesh played in their upset win against the No. 1 seed Kansas on Saturday March 20, 2010. In the NCAA Tournament, Ali led the side and produced a stunning three-pointer in the closing moments thus snatched the game with final scores 69-67 in favor of UNI.

This is being considered the biggest upset of the tournament i.e. 2010 March Madness and a crucial three-pointer by the American basketball star Ali Fredrick Farokhmanesh with only 35 seconds left in the game just left the Kansas startled. The Saturday’s game would be long remembered, especially by the Kansas since they were on the verge of victory when the inevitable happened and eventually; the University of Northern Iowa were victorious.

A video footage of the match is attached here to give a good idea to the readers whether what was so special about Ali Farokhmanesh the mixed American and Iranian descent Northern Iowa’s player. The video clip reveals how the Kansas players just forgot about Ali’s existence and kind under estimated his skills. They also forgot Ali was the man that stunned the UNLV in the first round by a similar game-winning three-pointer exactly two days ago.

Just watch the clip again and appreciate Ali’s effort that how far and how difficult angle he was standing at to shoot but he did it and did it well in time. Time was running short and with each second passing by, the Kansas were nearing the famous victory until the ball was pushed up the court by UNI and completely ignored and left alone; Ali Farokhmanesh landed the ball neat and clean right into the basket.
