Honey Boo Boo appears to have had it with all the hustle bustle and intrusion that being a big time celebrity has brought into her very young life. Yahoo News reported on Tuesday, that Honey Boo Boo had a meltdown while doing an interview with Dr. Drew, an interview that she had absolutely no interest in at all.
Alana Thompson, the 7-year-old that along with her family has taken TLC‘s reality television series “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” by storm. Honey Boo Boo appeared on Dr. Drew as part of a promotional tour for Season 2 of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.”
But little Honey Boo Boo must have suffered a go-go-juice crash, and appeared cranky, uninterested, an very unwilling to chat with the good doctor, Alana even went as far as to pretend to have fallen asleep, while snoring loudly in Dr. Drew’s face when he attempted to ask her a few questions about being a TV star.
“Is it difficult to be on TV?” In response, Honey Boo Boo dropped her head down in her arms and made loud snoring sounds.
“She’s sleeping,” said Dr. Drew. Trying to draw her out, he asked, “Is there something exciting you’d like to talk about?”
The Georgia native responded by fidgeting, flopping her arms about, while Honey Boo Boo’s mother June Shannon tried to get Alana to snap back into celebrity mode saying, “Alana, come on up so we can get this done and we can go.”
Honey Boo Boo’s mother has been publicly criticized by thousands stating that she has been exploiting her child, filling her up with junk food, and “go-go juice” (her own concoction of Mountain Dew and Red Bull) in order to get the seven-year-old motivated to perform at pageants and during TV filming.
Dr. Drew tried again: “Do you like being on TV?” This time she said loudly, “No!” “You hate it? How come?” asked Dr. Drew.
Alana told him, “Fans come up to me and I hate it.”
“Yeah, right,” interjected a surprised and somewhat embarrassed mom.
Many non-fans of the TLC show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” have stated that they feel that June Shannon and TLC are putting young Alana through too much at such a young age, opting to burn the child out completely while riding out the cash train during however much television fame time she has left, and asking the question how long before she will be the next child celebrity to head down the popular path of total self destruction such as Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Bynes, and Corey Haim to name just a few celebrities with tragic tales.
