The Hurt Locker is a 2008 American war thriller directed by Kathryn Bigelow. It was one of the most acclaimed films of 2009, earning awards and honors from numerous organizations, festivals and groups. The film swept the 2010 BAFTA awards, winning best film, director, original screenplay, editing, cinematography and sound. The film follows a United States Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team during the Iraq War.

The war drama The Hurt Locker picked up the most awards, taking home six in total, including Best Film.
The Hurt Locker – about bomb disposal experts in Iraq – named best film.
That movie was the night’s big winner taking six awards in total including best director for Kathryn Bigelow – the first woman to win the prize.
