“Modern Family’s” Sarah Hyland was one of the first celebs to appear for the 2010 Emmys telecast and caused quite a splash!
Her silver empire waist dress is by Pamella Roland and she wore jewels from Chopard.
Hyland, 19, plays overly dramatic teenage daughter, Haley Dunphy, on the show that’s nominated for 14 Emmys this year including a nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series. “Modern Family” looks like it will dominate this year’s awards with an early win for
Hyland’s castmate Eric Stonestreet for supporting actor in a comedy and Steven Levitan and Chris Lloyd’s win for comedy writing.
We predict Hyland will win over some best-dressed lists herself!

Archie PanjabiAug 30th 2010 1:42AM

‘The Good Wife’ star Archie Panjabi cemented her status as the year’s breakout television star with her surprise Emmy win in the Best Supporting Drama Actress category.

She beat out heavy hitters like her ‘Good Wife’ co-star Christine Baranski, ‘Mad Men’ nominees Elisabeth Moss and Christina Hendricks and TV veteran Sharon Gless.

“When I started in the business in England, just getting a job was a dream,” she said while accepting the trophy. “And to receive an Emmy now is just beyond my wildest dreams … Working on ‘The Good Wife’ for me is like a dream come true.”

She went on to thank “Angelina,” whom USA Today confirmed to be her ‘Mighty Heart’ co-star Angelina Jolie.

Panjabi won for playing the tough, mysterious investigator Kalinda on ‘The Good Wife’; it’s her first major American TV role. She’s best known for her roles in ‘East Is East’ and ‘Bend It Like Beckham.’

The Closer’s Kyra Sedgwick won her first Emmy Award on today’s show. But 2010 wasn’t the first time this talented actress was nominated. The venerable performer has been given a nod multiple times in the past (this was her fifth nom in a row).

This year, as always, Sedgwick looked terrific, wearing a blood red Monique Lillier gown. She gave a heart warming acceptance speech as if she was looking straight at her husband of 21 years, Kevin Bacon, who was in town from London to support his wife.

Meanwhile, Kyra’s  competition was fierce. Included in her category was Julianna Margulies, for The Good Wife; Mariska Hargitay for Special Victims Unit, Glenn Close for Damages, January Jones for Mad Men and Connie Britton for Friday Night Lights.

But Sedgwick, a very popular actress with a storied career, won for her fine work playing tough Southern detective Brenda Leigh Johnson.

So congratulations to The Closer’s Kyra Sedwick for her very first Emmy Award win on today’s show — a star no matter how you look at it.
