Raj Kishore Kesri a BJP MLA from Purnea district of Bihar was killed this morning by a woman named Rupam Pathak who has accused the MLA of raping her.
Rupan Pathak attacked MLA Raj Kishore Kesri while he was meeting visitors at his residence.
Rupan Pathak was attacked by Raj Kishore Kesri’s bodyguards as well as members of the public and now she is admitted in hospital and is in critical condition.
She had earlier filed a police case last year against the MLA of raping her on different occasions over the last three years. The police is investigating the case. Kesri had denied the charges.
Rupan Pathak is a teacher at a local school in Purnea.

A legislator in the northern Indian state of Bihar has been stabbed to death by a woman visitor at his home.
Rajkishore Kesri, of the state’s governing Bharatiya Janata Party, was meeting visitors when the attacker pounced, police said.
The woman is a married teacher who had accused Mr Kesri of sexual harassment, according to Indian media.
She is in hospital after Mr Kesri’s supporters beat her up, the director general of police told the BBC.
Mr Kesri’s spleen burst, leading to his death, he added.
Witnesses said that when her turn came to speak to the lawmaker, the woman pulled a knife from under her shawl and stabbed him in neck, stomach and chest.
Police said that the woman had lodged a sexual harassment complaint in May last year against Mr Kesri.
She told police she had also had a two-year relationship with the politician.

BJP MLA from Purnia in Bihar, Raj Kishore Keshri, was stabbed to death by a woman on Tuesday morning. The woman, identified as Rupam Pathak, has been arrested. Keshri was stabbed at his residence in Purnia by Pathak, a lady teacher, when he was meeting people of his constituency. According to eyewitnesses Pathak was standing in the queue and whipped out a knife from under her shawl and stabbed the two-time MLA in the neck when her turn came. She also stabbed Keshri in his stomach and heart. Police official said that Keshri’s spleen burst leading to his death.
The accused woman, a teacher in a private school in Purnia, had accused Keshri of raping her, Director General of Police Neelmani said. Pathak had also filed a case of sexual harassment against Keshri.
Pathak was beaten up by the people present at the MLA’s residence and is reportedly to be critically injured. She has been taken to the government hospital in Purnia under police protection.
“The accused woman has been arrested. We will know the reason for his murder only after interrogation. This is an unfortunate incident,” said Additional Director General of Police PK Thakur.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Sushil Modi claimed Pathak was trying to blackmail Keshri.
“She was trying to blackmail him (Kehsri). He was a dedicated member of our party. This is very sad. What was her motive and who are the people behind this is a matter of investigation. She never registered a case. Police registered the case only after this come in a local daily. I will request people to maintain peace. I will go there (Purnia),” said Modi in Patna.
