HER own wedding was the stuff of magazine covers and headline news, now Kate Ritchie is set to host a new reality series, Don’t Tell The Bride.
The Channel 10 show picks up an international format which sees the groom plan that special day, keeping it all a secret from the wife-to-be.
Ritchie will narrate the series, which marks her return to the small screen – and a new presenting challenge for the former Home & Away actress.
It’s another great talent signing for Ten, who poached Packed To The Rafters star Hugh Sheridan to host its upcoming triple threat search series, I Will Survive and Sarah Murdoch to front the shiny floor spectacular, Everybody Dance Now.
With two years of wedded bliss under her belt, Ritchie is the perfect choice for the format.
A popular series in the UK and US, the bride and groom are seperated three weeks before their nuptials and all key decisions by the groom. Testing the average bridezilla’s need to control the details, the bride will only try on the dress chosen for her days before she walks down the aisle.
It’s a recipe for tantrums and tears – and lots of laughs, says Ritchie.
“I’m thrilled to be part of a show that’s a cheeky take on one of life’s most memorable milestones. It’s going to be a great deal of fun, maybe not for the brides but certainly for the rest of us.”
