A 41-year-old convicted murderer has been charged with killing his brother and his brother’s wife in their own home as their children listened.
Police reported that Mishawaka, Indiana, resident Steven Clippinger went to brother Matthew’s house and fatally shot him in his own garage.
Matthew Clippinger’s wife Lisa is then thought to have opened the door to the garage and screamed according to the deceased couple’s two children who then saw their uncle chase their mother down a hallway before hearing more gunshots.

Steven Clippinger is alleged to have then fled the scene in a vehicle driven by his alleged accomplice, Jennifer Leveque.
‘All of a sudden, I heard screaming,’ said one neighbour to the South Bend Tribune.
Police were called to 700 block of East 11th Street in Mishawaka after the children aged 20 and 12 phoned 911.

Police reported that the suspects were attempting to flee to Georgia.
The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office filed two murder charges on Saturday and a weapons charge against Steven Clippinger and Leveque, 40, has been charged with assisting a criminal, and transferring a handgun to a felon.
‘Basically, I’m speechless,’ said Shane Groppe who was a friend of Matthew and Lisa Clippinger’s son, Shane Clippinger.
‘I called him this morning and he basically said, ‘my parents got shot’.
‘I don’t know what I’d do if I lost my parents.
‘It’s a crying shame that this happened.’

In 1990, Steven Clippinger was convicted of murder and served 20 years in prison and as such is now regarded as a ‘serious felon’.
The two children told investigators that Steven arrived at their home on Friday night armed with a handgun and his brother Matthew confiscated it because it was in breach of his parole.
The children then informed police that Steven returned soon afterwards with another handgun and began shooting.

Neighbours described Matthew and Lisa as a nice couple and that their tidy house complete with American flag was an unlikely setting for a double homicide.
‘I’m a little bit numb,’ said one.
‘They were nice. They both worked…It could not have been a stranger.
‘This is not the neighbourhood where something like this happens.’
Steven Clippinger is being held without bond while Leveque is being held on a $60,000 bond.
